Any period where you are gambling.

Set
When you play Pai Gow Poker this is the name given to split their 7 card hand into a 5 and 2 hand card hand respectively.

In Craps when you roll a 7 after the point has been set.

Seventh Street
In seven card stud poker this is when you come to the fifth and final round of betting. Seventh street refers to the fact that each player has seven cards.

Shark
An excellent card player or the name for a cheat.

Shill
The person that is employed to fill a seat if there are no players at a table.

Shiner
A mirror that is used to cheat or any other reflecting object.

Shoe
A box made of wood which holds the cards and dispenses them at the table.

Shooter
The person who is rolling the dice in Craps.

Short Run
Series of bets or events in a short space of time in any game.

Showdown
The name in poker when the players come to the final part and must show their cards to see who wins.

Shuffle Tracking
Form of observation used illegally in Blackjack to observe.

Shuffle Up
Premature Shuffle.

Shuffling
Mixing the cards to ensure fairness.

Shutter
The name of a flap used on a Bingo Card that is used to mark each number when called.

Silver Mining
A person who looks for coins in a slot machine that may have been left.

Single
A straight and easy bet on one selection or event.

Singleton
A single card in Poker.

Sixth Street
When players have six cards in a game of seven card stud.

Skin Game
A game that is played involving more than 1 cheater in poker.

Skinning the Hand
A cheat in poker uses this technique to get rid of extra cards.

Slot Club Member
A person who gambles frequently and is given a card to use for the slots.

Snake Eyes
A roll of the dice in Craps that produces a two.

Soft Count
When they count the contents of a drop box.

Soft Count Room
Room where they do the Soft Count.

Soft Hand
Any hand that contains an Ace that is counted as 11.

Spinner
A term used for a winning streak.

Spooking
Two players work together to try to beat the house by cheating. Mostly done in Blackjack where players try to see a dealer’s hole card.

Spot
The name for the numbers 1-80 in Keno.

Stack
20 Chips in a column in Roulette but also refers to a normal stack of chips.

Stand
When you do not want any more cards in the hand that you are playing.

Standing Hand
A hand that is 17 or more in Blackjack but will probably bust if the player hits.

Stay
To not accept any more cards to your hand.

Steaming
Poor judgment over a period playing Blackjack.

Stickman
The name for the dealer in Craps who has a stick to use at the table.

Stiff Hand
A hand that is sitting from 12-16 in Blackjack but could bust.

Straight Keno
Played by marking numbers on a ticket also known as Straight Keno.

Streak Betting
This is where players look at how a game is going and then choose to bet.

Stripping
Reversing the order of the deck for the first to last.

Stud poker
A game of Poker using cards that are face down and face up.

Suit
The four suits of Hearts, Diamonds, Spades and Clubs.

Surrender
To give up during a game.

System
Use of mathematical techniques to try to beat the dealer
