Paint
A face card of any suit namely Jack, Queen or King.

Palette
This is used to move cards by the dealer in Baccarat.

Pass
Fold or not bet.

Pass Line
The area of a Craps table where you place a Pass Line Bet.

Pass Line Bet
A bet that says the point will repeat in a Craps game.

Pat
This is a hand in Blackjack that is worth 17 but not over 21 and in Draw Poker a hand that doesn’t require any more cards.

Payline
When the symbols line up on a slot machine this is the line to pay.

Payoff
A return on a bet that has won.

Payoff Odds
In every casino there are different payoff odds that are given to different bets.

Payout Percentage
The percentage of each dollar that is played in a slot or video poker machine that is programmed to come back to the player.

Payout Table
A table that tells a player what he will win with a winning hand.

Pigeon
A naive gambler.

Pit
The area that is arranged around the central area for dealers and employees for table games.

Pit Boss
The supervisor who is in charge of the pit area.

Pit Manager
This is the main person in the pit who takes care of any problems.

Player
The person who has come to gamble at a casino.

Playing the Rush
Used for a poker player who has won a lot of dough in a short space of time.

Plug
The technique for shuffling commonly used in Blackjack.

Poker
A card game where players try to arrange a winning hand according to the different rules in many variations.

Point
This is the number in Craps rolled on a Come Out Roll if the number is 4,5,6,7,8,9 or 10.

Pot
Refers to the amount of money that is sitting in the middle of the table as it accumulates until there is a winner.

Press
To double a bet.

Probability
A technique that is used to calculate mathematically the likelihood of something occurring.

Progressive
The name that is used for a slot machine that has a jackpot that rises until won.

Proposition Bet
A dice bet placed on number combinations used in Craps.

Punch Board
A game that is similar to lotteries where a player punches out a slot for a chance to win merchandise or cash prize.

Punter
Same name as a player.

Punto Banco
Name that is sometimes given to Baccarat.

Push
A tie that is played between the player and the banker where the money is usually returned
