Action – The money wagered by a player during an entire session of gambling.
Active Player – In a game of poker, the player who is still playing and has not been eliminated.
Add-on – In a current game of poker, the possibility of purchasing more chips during that tournament.
Aggregate Limit – The total payout limit of a casino during any one game.
Aggregate Winnings – Refers to the total winnings.
All or Nothing – In a Keno game, a ticket that only pays if either all of the numbers chosen are drawn or none of the numbers chosen are drawn. If you have one number, you will not win, hence all or nothing.
Anchor Man – In a game of Blackjack, the player betting on the last box on the table, the far right of the deal is said to be anchoring the Blackjack game.
Ante – In a card game, such a Blackjack, an ante is a bet that is required to begin the hand. It is the initial compulsory bet required before you receive your cards in Caribbean Stud Poker.
Any Craps – Is a one-roll dice bet that covers the numbers 2, 3, and 12.
Any Seven – Also in Craps, is a one-roll dice bet covering any 7.
Arm – In a game of Craps, a player who is said to have such skill at throwing the dice that he or she can alter the conventional odds of the game. A player in these circumstances is said to be “an arm”, and is not seen to kindly by a dealer.
Audition – A rigorous test every dealer must first pass before being employed by a casino
