Rules of Video Poker v’s Casino Poker
Although video poker and casino poker share the same name, they are vastly different format, with contrasting sets of rules. Whereas in casino poker you are playing against other people, video poker is just you against the machine.
The difference between the two games is the simplicity that video poker offers online gamblers. Casino poker is all about playing mind games with bluff and double bluff strategies but video poker is straightforward: you against the computer.
The format of casino poker revolves around you making a hand of five by using your two cards and the five community cards in the middle of the table. In video poker, you automatically receive five cards and then have the opportunity to trade any of your cards for new ones. There are no community cards with video poker so the format is much easier to understand.
The video poker hand hierarchy is very similar to casino poker with a royal flush being the most valuable and a straight flush coming a close second. In video poker a single pair of cards does not win unless you are playing Jacks or Better where a pair of jacks or better will win you a nominal amount of money.
One of the major positives of video poker is time consumption because a single hand can take as little as thirty seconds or one minute to complete. This is in a sharp contrast to a casino poker hand that could take a considerable amount of time depending on the circumstances.
They might both share the same name but they are totally different games whose rules are not really relevant to each other. There is one thing video and casino poker share and that is that the name of the game is to win as much money as possible.
