American Roulette Rules
Roulette has carried on its tradition from the casino to the internet as being one of the premier games. It’s been given celebrity status and even after two hundred years, it is still one of the top table games of all time.
Before it made it online, the game had evolved into two versions on either side of the Atlantic. It’s important to understand the differences and what this means. It could mean a healthier return at the start.
The European version features the numbers between one and thirty six, with “0” making the total 37. The zero is coloured green, the others alternately red or black.
The numbers are not in sequential order.
The American wheel has thirty eight numbers. This is due to the addition of extra zero, called the double zero or “00”. You therefore have more numbers to choose from on the American wheel and, the higher odds. Your one number bet has odds of 38:1.
Bets in both games are referred to as inside or outside bets. The European version has special call bets which are extra betting options on a set of numbers.
When you play online, the gambling site will display the version it’s using. It may offer both American and European versions, or it may even have a proprietary version of its own.
These days, there are not many differences other than the odds when it comes to American and European roulette. As a result, it is important to know the different odds too, so when you start to play online roulette, you know exactly what’s in store.
This is one of the great table games of all time for many players. Whether you’re looking to play the European or American versions, both are enjoyable, and a great deal of fun.
