Basic Craps Rules – Establishing the Point
When the craps shooter makes the come out roll and does not roll a seven or eleven, for the Pass Line bet. Or a two or three for the Don’t Pass bet, and then a point number will come into effect. If the number rolled on the come out is a four, five, six, eight, nine or a ten, this number becomes the point.
Establishing the point
The craps dealer will then move a puck shaped marker stamped with the word On to the number rolled. This is now the point and is marked so all players can see and continue to place bets. Meanwhile the shooter will continue to roll the craps dice until a seven or the point number is achieved.
For instance if a shooter has a bet on the Pass Line and rolls a six on the come-out, the craps dealer will mark the six as the point. The shooter will then continue to roll the dice and will be able to make further bets. If a bet is placed on the number four after the come-out and a four is rolled, this will win and the shooter will carry on.
This means that bets can be made by all craps players and there could be many rolls of the dice. As long as the shooter does not roll a six or a seven the round will continue and could last for quite some time. So basically, any bets placed after the come-out roll will stand until the point number or a seven is rolled.
This can make for quite an exciting craps game for everyone playing as there can be many wins from just one round. As long as the shooter does not crap out and keeps away from the point, everyone will win
