Basic Blackjack Rules – Placing a Bet
Placing a bet is very simple but has a certain style to it. The player should count how much he is going to place on a hand and place the correct chips in the betting circle or box in front. With a $50 bet it is simply two green chips but if it is a $30 bet then you use a red and a green chip. The largest denomination chip, in this case the green, should be placed at the bottom. Before the game can start you need to place your bet. The dealer will confirm your amount by counting it back to you. Then he will deal the first card to his left and the game has begun. After the first card is dealt, the bet is in play and cannot be touched.
When you win a game then the dealer will push the chips towards you and you can collect or count out the next amount that you want to bet on the next hand. When you are happy with all that you have won then it’s time to cash in your earnings and this is done simply by letting the dealer know you have finished by pushing all your chips out in front of you. He will then color up the chips by exchanging them for different values. The smaller chips will be exchanged for larger ones such as five reds = one green, and you are then free to take them to the cashier who will exchange them for your cash.
Simple things like this will let you enjoy the game a lot more and help you become a better and smarter player. Knowing the different rules for each casino and how to place your bet correctly and, more importantly, collect your winnings adds to the fun of the game.
