Scoring In Baccarat
The most difficult part of baccarat rules is understanding the scoring system. The way the game is scored is unlike any other casino card game, but it is very easy to learn. As with any new game being played, taking time to learn the rules fully is very important.
Baccarat uses exactly the same kind of card deck as any other game, but the main difference lies in the values of each card. This may take a little time to get used to but once you have played a few baccarat games, it will become very clear.
The lowest card is the Ace. This is worth one at all times in baccarat and cannot be changed to eleven as in most card games. The next cards, from numbers two to nine are worth their face value, which is easy to remember. The Ten, Jack, Queen and King are worth zero, which may seem a little confusing at first but it is not really complicated.
The main thing to remember in baccarat is that the number ten and any multiple of tens do not count: they are worth zero at all times. For example, if on the first deal of the cards you are dealt a ten and a five, your total score is five as you subtract the ten. If you are dealt a ten and a Jack your score is zero and if you are dealt a further ten, your score will still be zero.
In baccarat, this works in exactly the same way for pairs of cards amounting to over ten. If you receive two eights, you have sixteen, but then you subtract the ten and your score is six. If you are dealt two sevens, your score is four and so on. If you can remember this very simple baccarat rule, that tens and multiples of ten do not count, you will be fine.
This is the most difficult part of baccarat but as you can see, it really is not that hard to understand at all. When you understand this fully, your baccarat games will be most enjoyable.
